Hi everyone, it’s Cindy here! If we haven’t met before, then allow me to (virtually) introduce myself – I am one of the interior designers on the In House team! Today, I’m doing a little take-over on our blog to share a bit of inspiration from my own trip to Chicago taken earlier this year. My passion for interior design and interests in art and photography makes traveling all that much more exciting. It is not unusual to find me with camera in hand, perched precariously over my subject matter du jour, as I try to capture every bit of design inspiration that my camera roll will allow me! #InspirationIsEverywhere

Iris Apfel once famously quipped, “Coco Chanel said take one thing off. I always said put another one on.” While these iconic tastemakers were referring to accessories, the same arguments can be made when it comes to interiors. Here are a few examples of some of our favourite projects that put emphasis on the motto “more is more,” where we had the opportunity to push the envelope and combine bold colour with pattern that makes a statement!

We are so excited to finally reveal our Marda Loop kitchen renovation project! This was actually the second phase of kitchen renovations for our lovely clients, who originally came to us in 2016 for the first phase of renovations. Fast forward five years later and our client called us to continue the kitchen renovation! We love a good before and after and this project does not disappoint. Grey is a great neutral option that can add a ton of variation and depth to any space. However, there are some caveats to consider when incorporating grey into your interiors and we’ve picked up some tips and tricks over the years that we’d like to pass on!
